Powers, Ore. April 5, 2024--After assessing the Anvil Fire area, the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest/Powers Ranger District has determined that the Anvil Fire closure, which was scheduled to be in effect through July 1, 2024, is now safe and open for public entry.

Powers, Ore – October 25, 2023 Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest Acting Forest Supervisor Jake Winn has signed an order that reduces the Emergency Area and Road Closure for the Anvil Fire. This reduction of the closure area is effective October 25, 2023 through July 1, 2024 unless rescinded sooner.

Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest has issued Closure Order # 06-10-28-23-65 effective 09-16-23 through 10-31-23.
Closure Area boundary is described as the entirety of the Grassy Knob Wilderness and Copper Salmon Wilderness as well as National Forest lands from:
• Township 33 S Range 14 W Sections 19, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 due North to the Forest Boundary.
