Programming with SciStarter & Verizon Volunteers
SciStarter has expanded its partnership with Verizon bring more virtual citizen science programming to your library! Exploring citizen science is a great way to reach library patrons virtually.

We have limited opportunities connecting to this fall programming, but filling out the sign-up form also signals your willingness for future engagement. Programs will largely be scheduled first come, first served.

A program could be hosted on SciStarter's Zoom account or on the library's Zoom account. For the majority of programs, SciStarter program manager Caroline Nickerson will give a brief introduction to citizen science and a featured project (for example, the featured project for an event could be one listed on https://SciStarter.org/NLM project), and then attendees (these could be library patrons, teen volunteers, or whomever the library audience is) will be put in breakout rooms for trained Verizon employee facilitators to lead them through the project and actually contribute to citizen science, live, in the virtual event. Programs could be anytime that works for both SciStarter and the host library in August-December.
