The debate over gun rights continues in Pennsylvania.State House Republicans on Tuesday blocked another attempt by Democrats to implement new gun control legislation.This time, the proposal involved background checks on private sales of rifles and shotguns.Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee moved to rewrite the bill to instead make it a measure that loosened concealed carry rules.House Democrats on the panel criticized the move."There's a loophole. If you can't pass a background check, you're going to go to a gun show. That's the reality of this," Rep. Tim Briggs (D-149) said.The Republican committee chairman pointed to Pennsylvania's constitution, saying the right to firearms shall not be compromised.
