Southwest Introduces Santa Barbara Flights From Oakland

Daily flights will begin in the spring, with one-way fares starting at $39.

EAST BAY — Southwest Airlines will begin offering daily flights between Oakland International Airport and Santa Barbara on April 12. Airfare will be priced from $39 each way.

The airline will use Boeing 737 aircraft on the route.

The flights are available for booking now. Flights to Santa Barbara will leave daily at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Santa Barbara at 12:55 p.m.

Northbound flights will leave Santa Barbara 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Oakland at 2:45 p.m.

“Santa Barbara is an often requested yet currently unserved destination from the East Bay,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Bryant L. Francis. “Southwest is California’s favorite airline, and they have done a great job connecting the dots enabling Californian’s and visitors to the Golden State to fly between California’s preferred airports with great schedules, low fares as well as Southwest’s legendary service.”

With the new flight, Southwest will fly to eight Southern California destinations from Oakland.

Oakland International Airport is home to Southwest’s largest California base offering flights from coast to coast across the US, including Hawaii.
