NFFE-IAM Sisters and Brothers,

Do you have student loans? You may be eligible for thousands of dollars in loan forgiveness as a federal employee through the Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Your union, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE), is partnering with the Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid to provide information directly to NFFE members and bargaining unit employees on how to access the most student loan relief available to you.

Whether you are a new employee looking to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program for the first time, or already enrolled but unsure if you’re taking full advantage of the opportunities before they close, this is tremendous event to learn from the experts and get your questions answered.

Don’t miss it because the Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness program closes October 31, 2022.  Under the limited PSLF waiver, you can get credit for past payments even if you:

  • had or have a Federal Family Education Program (FFEL) loan or Perkins loan
  • didn’t make the payment on time,
  • didn’t pay the full amount due, or
  • weren’t on a the right repayment plan.

In the informational webinar, you’ll learn how prepare your PSLF form and/or to apply for consolidation. We’ll offer tips on how much time to allow yourself to meet the deadline, and to make sure your PSLF form and/or consolidation will be processed right the first time. Visit the PSLF Resources page to see if you qualify and bring your questions to the union’s webinar.
