IMGH Refugee Services Community Engagement VISTA, OneStar

Interfaith Ministries (IM) of Greater Houston’s mission is to bring people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration, and service, as a demonstration of shared beliefs. IM has four core programs: Meals on Wheels/Animeals, Refugee Resettlement, Interfaith Relations and Community Partnerships (IRCP), and Volunteer Houston. IM’s Refugee Services program, in conjunction with the U.S. State Department and Episcopal Migration Ministries, resettles hundreds of refugees in Houston each year and helps thousands of our newest neighbors successfully acculturate to American life. The Community Engagement VISTA will build organizational capacity with a focus on community engagement and communication areas to bring attention to the unmet needs of Houston’s refugee and immigrant population. The VISTA will generate support for IM’s Refugee Services program, which creates opportunities for refugees to achieve their goals for self-sufficiency and integration in the community.
