Skip-a-Year Option

Skip-a-Year is the new deferral process.

Instead of a deferral process the race is now using the Skip-a-Year option instead. A racer can select Skip-a-Year only once in their racing lifetime.

If you know you are not going to race during registration and want to keep your priority registration:

Racers with priority registration status for the 2024 race (who do not have 10-year status) and will not be racing (injury, family issue, or any other reason) need to (1) register and pay the entry fee and (2) submit a Skip-a-Year request using the form below to obtain priority registration for the 2025 race.
If possible, please do so before April 1 so that your bib can be redistributed via the lottery.

Racers with 10-year status who will not be racing (injury, family issue, or any other reason) should not register and do not need to complete a request. This is because 10-year status racers always have priority registration — so there is no need to hold their spot by using Skip-A-Year.

After race registration closes:

Racers who are registered for the 2024 race and will not be racing (injury, family issue, or any other reason) need to submit a Skip-a-Year request using the form below to obtain priority registration for the 2025 race.

The Skip-A-Year option can be selected between March 1-July 3. However, it is only available to those who register during the March 1-31 registration period.

Skip-A-Year is NOT available for lottery entrants or lottery losers. It is only available to lottery winners who have paid the full registration fee.

Skip-a-Year racers are recognized as a priority registrant the following year using the normal registration process, which includes paying the full registration fee.

Pregnancy deferral

The only deferral exception is for women due to pregnancy or childbirth.Pregnant women who qualify and have priority registration may request a race deferral to retain their Priority Registration status for the next year. This deferral is not available to the partner of someone who is pregnant.
