FDA leaders in JAMA: This fall will kick off the 'new normal' of annual Covid-19 boosters
Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers, the FDA, CDC, and vaccine experts will need to come together and make a decision within the next month on who should be eligible for Covid boosters next fall and what those boosters should look like, FDA commissioner Rob Califf, principal deputy commissioner Janet Woodcock, and CBER director Peter Marks wrote in a JAMA viewpoint published yesterday.
But the FDA leaders stressed that “society is moving toward a new normal” where Covid boosters are administered alongside flu boosters annually.
