Overnight Work

Dates: Monday, March 7 to Tuesday, March 15, 2022
Dates are subject to change due to weather and construction schedule adjustments    

Location: W. Hollywood Avenue between N. Broadway and N. Winthrop Avenue
     
Work Hours: 9pm to 5am, nightly

Work Activity: Track Support Segment Installation

Local Impact:
  • W. Hollywood Avenue between N. Broadway and N. Winthrop Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic.
  • Sidewalk closures within the work zone, underneath the CTA tracks will alternate between the north and south sides of W. Hollywood Avenue.
  • One sidewalk will remain open at all times with flagger assistance when necessary. 
  • Residents south of W. Hollywood Avenue will need to access the alley via W. Bryn Mawr Avenue.
  • Residents north of W. Hollywood Avenue, on the west side of the 5700 block of N. Winthrop Avenue (5700-5752 N. Winthrop), may be unable to enter/exit garages and parking spaces during stated work hours. 
  • If you need further information about alternative parking, please contact the contractor, Walsh-Fluor, at 708-253-9772.
  • There will be noise while work is being performed. Noise will include:
    • General construction noise
    • Noise from lifting track segments
    • Beeping from backup alarms on maintenance equipment and vehicles
In an effort to maintain track along the CTA Red Line, eliminate slow zones, and continue to provide quality rapid transit service, work will be performed that may affect your community. While progress sometimes comes with inconveniences, we will do our best to keep them to a minimum.
