We stand with you.

CONECT Leaders, Allies, & Friends,

The Jewish community in CONECT and around the US is hurting after the Anti-Semitic terror attack and hostage-taking over the weekend at Congregation Beth Israel in Texas. While we give thanks that Rabbi Cytron-Walker and the others taken hostage were not harmed, the terror and fear this attack created across the Jewish community is very real and raw.

No matter our faith tradition or background, any time a congregation is attacked during a worship service we are all less safe and secure. When a Jewish congregation is specifically targeted because of Anti-Semitic ideas, we denounce both the attack and this hateful ideology.

We pray for healing, safety, and wholeness for our Jewish brothers and sisters at this time. We will stand together and will fight together for dignity, safety, and security for all of us.

We stand ready to take action as well, when the time is right, to continue our collective work for justice – what the Jewish tradition calls Tikkun Olam, the repair of the world – work that is so badly needed during these trying times.

In Solidarity,

Matt McDermott
