New Workstations Promote Employee Health 
Like so many other businesses, Family Achievement Center’s (FAC) daily operations changed drastically when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. As their services went from in-person to virtual, therapists changed how they used their office space to promote social distancing while offering telehealth services to clients. Recognizing that employees’ health and proper ergonomic support is a priority, FAC applied for partner project funding through Living Healthy Washington County. With the funding, FAC purchased 12 mobile standing desks, a standing desk riser that allows for ergonomically correct positioning in both sitting and standing positions, and an ergonomic laptop mount stand that allows for proper posture while using a laptop computer.

Healthy Eating Partner Project Application Coming Soon!
Living Healthy Washington County supports organizations working to increase access, availability, and selection of healthier foods. Healthy Eating funds will be awarded to help organizations address this goal to improve health and reduce chronic diseases for all. A maximum of $5,000 will be awarded per organization.   
 
Applications will open on January 10 and are due by 4:00 pm on February 4.

2021 WellSpring Project Applications Opening in January
Washington County Public Health & Environment (PHE) is excited to announce an upcoming funding opportunity through the WellSpring Project. The WellSpring Project uses upstream efforts and a lifespan approach to develop community, resilience, vitality, and health. PHE will partner with organizations within the county to create a multi-component and multi-sector network to support the mental well-being and resilience of those who live, work, and play in Washington County. Individual applicants can apply for up to $10,000.    
 
Applications will open on January 3 and are due February 4.

Hope for the Holidays: Mental Health Resources
The holidays can be a complicated time. It might be a time of excitement and love, or it might be of time that provokes anxiety, grief, and depressed feelings. Whatever emotion you are feeling during this time, there are mental health resources available to you on Mental Health America’s “Hope for the Holidays” resource page.
