Launch App

Overview

1. I would explain my program as a community app for my town. My program is designed to store information, including requests for vital records, research into small businesses, and information about our town government. This application is convenient for everyone because it is simple to understand and use, and New Britain has a lot to offer. This will address the crucial problem of lacking a community app. This app will be used to promote a positive environment and give residents quick access to crucial information.
2. New Britain, the town that I live in, currently doesn't have an app. This app will be created for the town so that they can access any information they need. My program uses many different websites that cannot be found by just looking at the town website.
3. This app is the first of its kind. There has never been a New Britain community app before. The only town that I am aware of that has a community app is East Hartford. As part of my AP CSP class, I was inspired to take responsibility and make an app for my town. I have been coding and making apps all school year and took this an opportunity to create something for my community to enjoy and appreciate.

Audience

1. The intended users of my program are the residents of New Britain. Residents of my town will use the information in more ways than one. This app was specifically targeted to residents because there isn't an app that they can use to pay their bills and explore new places around town. This population would want to use this app because it is convenient. They won't have to go to city hall to request vital records or pay for their water bill. This app will have everything in one place to make their lives easier.
2. My title helps me connect with my audience because they have never heard of anything like this. It is something completely new and it is up to date. My logo connects me with my target audience because everyone will recognize the New Britain logo. On the start page, residents will notice the logo at the top. The colors help me connect with my target audience because I used the city colors. The user interface uses maroon as the background color and yellow/gold color for the buttons and titles. There are no colors used on the app that aren't recognizable by a New Britain resident.
