How would you explain your program and how will your program spread a positive message, solve an important problem, or promote a healthy habit?
My program is spreading a positive message by being about how we can solve the issue of global warming, and it's about nuclear power, which solves most important problems in energy production. In the program I mention how it's cheaper, unimaginably efficient, and most importantly, safe, especially when compared to coal power.
What problem or issue in my community, Connecticut, the United States, or the world does your problem address?
An estimated 112,000 people die each year from coal power production. As of the 2020 census, my town of Newtown has a population of about 27000 people. Each year, the town I live in could be completely erased 4 times over and it still wouldn't account for the lives lost by producing coal power. My program teaches about nuclear power, which, outside of the Chernobyl accident, kills virtually nobody each year.
What inspired my team to address this problem/issue?
I like saving money, and reducing energy costs is one good way of saving money. Saving people is nice, too.
