CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Local performers are shining a spotlight on mental health.

The Mental Health Talent Show of America is coming back to Mecklenburg Gardens.

It will feature singers, musicians, and other performers with a mental illness along with healthcare workers.

Charles Walker created the show to stop stigmas for people he says are often ignored, shunned, or bullied.

"The expectations of a mentally ill person are far less than what would be seen at the Mental Health Talent Show of America," Walker said. "And it just, you know, shows that we can do something, we can show talent, we can entertain, we can perform, you know, for the public."

The show is scheduled from 6 to 9 Friday night at Mecklenburg Gardens.

Tickets are $30 and that includes a buffet dinner.

Kids 12 and under get in free.
