USDA is Seeking Applications for Grants to Help Rural Businesses and Ag Producers Develop and Market Value-Added Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is accepting applications for technical assistance grants, which the recipients will use to help rural businesses and agricultural producers develop and market value-added agricultural products.

Grants provided through the Agriculture Innovation Center Program must be used to establish and operate Agriculture Innovation Centers that will provide technical and business development assistance to agricultural producers seeking to engage in value-added activities. The funds may be used to provide legal, accounting, and other consulting services; to hire employees to establish and operate the centers; or to make individual grants to agricultural producers.

Nonprofits, for-profit corporations, public bodies, and institutions of higher education are eligible to apply. Recipients must provide matching funds of at least one-third of the total project budget.

The deadline to submit applications through grants.gov is 9:00 p.m. PST on March 20, 2020.
