WEBINAR: New Grazing Program for Native Beef May 21

​

Are you a tribal producer in Montana raising a herd of beef cattle as your primary form of income? Join us to learn more about our new project that provides direct financial incentives to eligible producers through the implementation of new or expanded climate-smart practices. Both small-scale and large-scale producers are welcome! Attendees will learn about the benefits of the program and have the opportunity to connect with our IAC staff and project partners from Farm Journal Foundation, Ecosystem Services Market Consortium and The Yield Lab Institute.

Field Day: Regenerative Grazing & Land Management June 5

​

This field day will have a focus on the Great Plains regional concerns and natural resources. During this field day, participants will gain exposure to regenerative grazing practices, invasive species, regional weather data, and controlled burning. The agenda will feature presenters from UVE, NRCS, BIA, and IAC programs. This field day will connect producers to beneficial resources and helpful programming.

2024 Nevada Tribal Food & Ag Regional Summit 

May 29-31

​

Join us at the 2024 Native Food & Agriculture Summit at the 3C Event Center in Fallon, Nevada. This event is brought to you by the University of Nevada - Reno (UNR), and the Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC). This summit aims to highlight the Tribal food sovereignty efforts and create a platform for Tribal farmers and ranchers to better access resources provided by UNR, IAC, USDA, and partner organizations. Attendees will gain insight into useful resources about meat processing through presentations, face-to-face interaction with experts, and interactive outdoor demonstrations. We'll have the opportunity to learn more about USDA programs.

The Rocky Mountain Youth Regional Summit will include 2 days of informative sessions, along with on-site demonstrations. Topics will range from community development, natural resources, food sovereignty, Tribal enterprise, Native climate resources, youth loans, and USDA opportunities. Breakfast and lunch will included for attendees both days.

IAC Great Plains Youth Regional Summit 

July 29-30

The Intertribal Agriculture Council Youth Program invites you to participate in the first ever Great Plains Regional Youth Summit! This summit will be held in Bismarck, North Dakota on July 29-30. The Great Plains Regional Youth Summit will include 2 days of informative sessions, along with on-site demonstrations. Topics will range from community development, natural resources, food sovereignty, Tribal enterprise, Native climate resources, youth loans, and USDA opportunities.

​

Youth ages 14-26 are welcome to apply. All youth under the age of 21 will need to be accompanied by a chaperone. 

​

IAC Great Lakes Regional Summit 

April 15-16

Attendees will participate in 2 days of interactive and engaging learning sessions. Topics include agriculture and conservation, meat and poultry processing resources, Tribal treaty rights, the National Intertribal Food Business Center, Tribal fish harvest netting, seed saving, produce and food safety, model Tribal food and ag codes, tree burn scars, agroforestry, and legislative policy updates.

IAC Eastern Regional Summit 

May 14-15

This summit aims to highlight the Eastern Region and host the  communities' Tribal food sovereignty efforts, strengthen intertribal food networks, and create a platform for Tribal farmers to better access resources and support provided by IAC, USDA, and partner organizations. Attendees will gain insight into useful resources for Tribal agricultural/food operations and natural resources departments through presentations, face-to-face interaction with experts, and interactive outdoor demonstrations.
