Holiday Closing Notice

The Library of Michigan will be closed Friday, December 23 through Monday, December 26 for the Christmas Holiday as well as from Thursday, December 29 at NOON through Monday, January 2 for the New Year's Holiday.

Cookbooks for Winter Celebrations

Mindy Babarskis Selected as Michigan Freedom Trail Commission Chair

Michigan Collection Librarian, Mindy Babarskis, joined the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission last December and has recently been selected as Commission Chair. The Michigan Freedom Trail Commission, established in 1998, works to preserve, protect, and promote the rich legacy of the Underground Railroad and the antislavery movement in Michigan. Recent programs include the 2022 Heritage Gathering - Underground Railroad Descendants: Sharing the Stories, consisting of a series of virtual sessions featuring conversations with descendants of freedom seekers in Michigan as well as a keystone Heritage Gathering Conference.
