Pending Library Catalog Changes
The Library of Michigan's catalog software will undergo a complete change on June 30th. During the week prior to the change on the 30th, the Library's patron record system, catalog, and circulation system will be unavailable. However, there will be a manual process in place to record checked-out materials. Here is a timeline of what to expect between now and the June 30 go-live:

June 22, 2022 – Patrons cannot submit online library card applications and Library staff must cease processing online card applications.

June 26, 2022 – Patrons will no longer be able to renew items on Answercat and any items checked out between the 26th and the 30th will not be listed under a patron’s My Library Record until after the catalog transition.

June 30, 2022 – Go live with the new catalog system. Patrons must reset their card pin numbers in order to access online resources from the Library of Michigan. Instructions for this are forthcoming as we get closer to the date.
Once the system goes live on June 30, there will still be several projects to refine the software in order to make sure everything is working properly. As that work is taking place, please be aware that some features of the catalog and check-out system may experience glitches.

The Library of Michigan now has an New Catalog FAQ page dedicated to updates related to the catalog changeover. This page is linked from many pages throughout our website, but can also be accessed directly by going to:

The New Catalog FAQ will continually be updated as new information becomes relevant. Instructions for how patrons are to reset their library card pin numbers will soon be posted on the the FAQ page.
