Please join the Region 2 National Preparedness Division in partnership with Americares for a webinar on selfcare for disaster responders and healthcare workers.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic disaster responders and healthcare workers who test and treat COVID 19 patients were, and continue to be, at higher risk of contracting it, than the general public. The possibility of contagion and even of bringing the disease home entails a high level of stress and anxiety.

We deal with the double burden of stress from home and work in the face of major disasters. Facing the difficult scenario of caring for themselves and others during this emergency presents health workers with the risk of burnout, indirect trauma, and compassion fatigue. This webinar will explain the specific stressors of first responders, mental and psychosocial health workers and healthcare providers, including secondary traumatic stress. The Americares team will also provide tools that can be used to promote self-care and aid in self-assessment.

Who should attend: Whole Community, First responders, Hospital staff, Mental health and psychosocial service providers

FEMA works to ensure equitable access for all to any services and programs that are provided by the agency. If you need a reasonable accommodation, please make your request in an email to fema-r2-prepares@fema.dhs.gov. Last minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill.
