GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District will celebrate the completion of the Allapattah Ranch Wetland Reserve project with a ribbon cutting event. All members of the public are invited to this meeting. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended.

This project will improve water quality, decrease runoff and curtail ecologically harmful freshwater flows to the St. Lucie Estuary. The restoration of 6,621 acres of wetlands in Martin County will provide average water storage of 13,300 acre-feet per year. Restoring the vast wetland area also returns valued habitat for threatened and endangered species.

No Governing Board action will be taken at this event. The event will also be recorded and available for viewing at YouTube.com/SFWMDTV after the event concludes.

Social distancing and masks that securely cover the nose and mouth are required at all times.
