Strategies for Health Plans to Support Access to COVID-19 Vaccines for Vulnerable Populations: Recent Webinar Key Takeaways

On April 1, 2021, Resources for Integrated Care (RIC) hosted a webinar entitled Strategies for Health Plans to Support Access to COVID-19 Vaccines for Vulnerable Populations. Multiple experts from the field joined us to share their valuable insights on the topic:

  • Marvin Figueroa, Director, Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, discussed the Department of Health and Human Services’ efforts to reduce barriers to COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Shelly Winston, Division of Part D Policy, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), provided an overview of the COVAX Data Project, through which CMS is sharing COVID-19 vaccination data with health plans.
  • Beejadi Mukunda, MD, Medical Director, MyCare Ohio, CareSource, and Jennifer Anadiotis, Director, Integrated Care Post-Acute Strategy, CareSource, spoke about current strategies being employed by CareSource for improving member access to COVID-19 vaccinations.   • Misty de Lamare, Director of Communications, L.A. Care Health Plan, and Alex Li, MD, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, L.A. The speakers participated in a robust panel discussion in which they answered questions around vaccine hesitancy, equity, member outreach, and more.
