Join MDC Staff for a kayaking adventure in the Ozarks! We will meet at 9:00am at Current River State Park and begin our class with flat-water instruction at on the lower lake. You will be introduced to parts of a kayak, basic paddling instruction and following rules of the river. After our two-hour initial instruction and practice, we will eat lunch and then hop onto the Current River for a 4 mile float to the Round Spring Upper Landing. Please bring a sack lunch with you as well as close-toed shoes and clothing you would not mind to get wet. You may wish to bring your own personal floatation device (PFD). Current River State Park will provide kayaks, paddles and a PFD. You may also bring a fishing pole with you and bait to fish along the Current River. We anticipate to be off the river at 3:00pm. If you are not from the area, we recommend staying at one of the campgrounds. Mary Beth Factor

Head South on 19-D until you reach the bottom lake with the dam (closest lake to Current River)
