Commercial Package Intercept

Application update adds new functions

Package Intercept allows mailers to request a shipment be held for pickup at a Post Office, redirected to a different domestic address or returned to sender.

The Postal Service has updated the Commercial Package Intercept application to allow commercial mailers to submit up to five times more package intercepts.

Commercial Package Intercept allows mailers to request a shipment be held for pickup at a Post Office, redirected to a different domestic address or returned to sender.

Previously, commercial mailers could submit package intercepts in batches of up to 200 intercepts at a time through a file-upload process on the application.

However, using the application’s new Excel Comma-Separated Values (CSV) template, mailers can now submit package intercepts in batches of up to 1,000 at a time.

The application dashboard has also been updated with new filtering and exporting reporting functionality.

The Commercial Package Intercept application updates do not affect the Retail Package Intercept application on usps.com.
