The Postal Service’s next stamp will shine a spotlight on tap dancing, an art form that is equally at home on the world’s most prestigious performance stages and everyday urban streets.
The Tap Dance stamps, which will be released on July 10, will feature five photographs of different dancers performing against brightly colored backdrops.

Tap dancing’s roots stretch back to Colonial America, where African dance moves intertwined with the rapid footwork of the Irish jig and English clog dancing.
Over time, a dynamic, hybrid dance form — combining a skilled, ever-changing combination of movement and sound — evolved.
Today, performers continue to build on tap dancing traditions, while imparting new cultural influences.
The Tap Dance stamps will be available in panes of 20 at Post Offices and usps.com.
