Only approved apps to be allowed on devices

Starting June 9, only authorized apps will appear on USPS-issued Apple and Android devices and be available for download.

The Postal Service will soon permit only approved apps on USPS-issued mobile devices, part of the ongoing effort to protect the organization from malware and other cyberthreats.

Starting June 9, only authorized apps will appear on USPS-issued Apple and Android smartphones and tablets and be available for download from the Postal Service’s mobile app store.

Before then, mobile device users should review the Authorized USPS Mobile Apps List and transfer any personal information within unauthorized apps — such as usernames and passwords — off the devices.

To receive approval for a mobile app not on the authorized list, users should ask their manager to email the USPS authorized apps team at AuthorizedApplications@usps.gov and provide a business justification for the app.

For more information, go to the Mobile Protection Initiative Blue page or email the authorized apps team.
