Ordinance providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to produce $34,400 for Special Service Area (SSA) Number 12.

Staff Summary

•                     In 2004, the County Board established the Woods of Ivanhoe SSA with renewal in 2019.

•                     This SSA provides funds to maintain private roads in Ivanhoe Subdivision.

•                     The levy amount was determined by the Homeowners’ Association.

•                     This special service area was requested by the homeowners’ association of the impacted area and the levy is applied only to the homeowners in that area.

ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, a levy ordinance for SSA Number Twelve was approved by the Lake County Board on July 13, 2004; and

WHEREAS, a levy ordinance for SSA Number Twelve was renewed by the Lake County Board on June 11, 2019; and

WHEREAS, said Ordinance stated that a levy sufficient to pay the cost of private road maintenance for SSA Number Twelve, up to $500 per lot, shall be made each year thereafter.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there be and there is levied upon all of the taxable property in said SSA Number Twelve, in addition to all other taxes, a direct tax of Thirty-four thousand, four hundred dollars ($34,400) for tax year 2022 for collection in calendar year 2023.
