Memorial Day is considered the “start” of summer, and what better way to start summer than to take a walk with history along Alki Beach after a trip across Elliot Bay on the West Seattle Water Taxi. West Seattle resident Greg Whittaker is excited about the recent return of evening and weekend sailings of the Water Taxi, and he invites you to join him on the “undeveloped” side of Seattle.

We’re a month into the summer sailing season, with seven-days-a-week service, mid-day sailings, and Friday and Saturday night service. Hop aboard and enjoy a 15-minute ride across Elliott Bay while enjoying panoramic views of the Seattle city skyline, Mount Rainier, and the Olympics.

Capacity limits and mandatory mask wearing are still in effect on our vessels, even if you’re outside looking at the skyline. Our layered approach to onboard health and safety continues to include regular cleanings, and plenty of Puget Sound fresh air, it’s a great time to set sail. Once you’re across the water and at Alki, you can take the free shuttle to the West Seattle Junction.
