Course 7 is intended to provide a framework for understanding the Property Tax Code and tools for day-to-day application of tax laws. This course will cover topics including types of laws relating to property taxes; laws relating to appraisal district governance and funding; laws dealing with the appraisal process, situs, jurisdiction, and exemptions; laws governing appraisal district records, renditions, notices, open records and open meetings; laws related to appraisal review board proceedings and other value appeals; and laws related to assessment, truth in taxation, tax collections and collections litigation.
This course is taught over a 3 day period with a review and exam. 24 TACA CE hours will be awarded for completion of this course. Courses with a TDLR approved speaker will be awarded 18.25 TDLR CE hours.
