Enrichment Grade-Schooler Pre-Teen Teen Young Adult Caregiver

Cornerstone Programs offer NYCHA residents opportunities for fun, learning, and support. Programs are located at 99 NYCHA Community Centers throughout the five boroughs.

  • Programs are free and available to young people and adults.
  • Typical programs for youth and adults include:
    • General Education Diploma (GED) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes
    • High school and college prep
    • Creative and performance arts
    • Workforce development and referrals
    • Family relationship workshops
    • Cultural and recreational activities
    • Healthy living workshops
    • Parenting skills
    • Computer access and training
    • Tenant education and advocacy
  • Enrollment for summer programs is every April.
  • Enrollment for school-year programs for elementary-age youth is between August and September.

Who is eligible

Cornerstone Programs are available to NYCHA residents who are Kindergarten-age or older.


How to apply

You can use Discover DYCD to find programs in your area and apply. To get started:

  1. Go to the Discover DYCD website.
  2. Select “Community Services” and click “Search”.
  3. Type “Cornerstone” into the “Keyword Search” box.
  4. Find programs in your area by entering your zip code, neighborhood, or borough, and clicking “Search”.
