Dear Earthworm Forum,

Unable to understand meaning of this error properly in startstop_unix_20230105.log.  I checked processes in *.d file to verify the module the process refers to exists but error keeps occurring.   Under 7.11, do the various module processes need to be in more specific order than in past EW versions?

startstop:  Expected: <Process>  Found: <$>
startstop:  Incorrect command order in <startstop_unix.d>; exiting!

Regards, Mark

Mark, it looks like you have a variable ($) where an ew Process command should be (e.g. Process "statmgr statmgr.d"). You might include your startstop_unix.d to help clarify.

Pretty sure startstop is expecting lines to go like this (eliminating comments beginning with "#"):

Process
Class/Priority
Process
Class/Priority

startstop is finding a line in its config file that begins with "$" instead of "Process".  Is there a typo?

Lynn, Mitch, & all,

Thanks for tweaking the little grey cells or greying cells for that matter!   Yes, I had a "$" where a "#" should have been to comment out an unused process.   For some reason I could not see the problem no matter how many times I reviewed the config file.

Thank you very much.   Happy New Year,  Mark
