Good morning! I am a senior working on a capstone project, and I have hit a bump in the road trying to run the ACPF model on part 1.b D8 Terrain Processing. Attached I have the error I am receiving. Any tips or tricks would be very helpful!

Thank you

Hi, I am receiving a similar error and was wondering if you ever figured out a solution, or if anyone else had any advice?

Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,
I was Haley's advisor on the project. The best advice we got is to follow the naming conventions as outlined in the ACPF handbook. Apparently you can end up with a lot of errors and the tools don't want to work if you don't name things properly. I believe that did solve the issue.

I am receiving the exact same error message as Jennifer with the same script.  (D8 terrain processing in tools 1b or 1e)
The error only happens in Desktop.  I checked path names and that's not the issue.
It works fine with ArcGIS Pro, so I'm now using that to run some of the tools.

What version of ArcMap are you running?  ArcMap 10.5 originally had three arguments for flow direction but in version 10.6 they added the ability to choose a flow direction type.

Yes...I am sorry for that. You should be able to edit the D8 Terrain processing script and remove everything past the the Flow Direction raster declaration.

DEMFill = Fill(D8FlowDir)

I will work on updating the toolbox

thanks

Per Dave suggestion, if you are using 10.5 or earlier, you can make the change to the following code to the HUC12TerrainProcessing.py on roughly line 35.

Change this:

    D8FlowDir = FlowDirection(DEMFill, "NORMAL", "", "D8")

To this:

    D8FlowDir = FlowDirection(DEMFill, "NORMAL", "")

The ManualCutterDamBuilder.py does not have the fourth argument in the Flow Direction line.

Hello.  Is there any solution to this error yet?  I am having an error with 1.b too.  I am using ArcMap 10.6. I checked HUC12TerrainProcessing.py as suggested by Rick and got this:

 D8FlowDir = FlowDirection(DEMFill, "", "")
 D8FlowDir.save(OutputFlowDir)

Here's the error message I got:
