New suggested requirements from COGA - David Fazio/John Kirkwood:

User Need 1:

REQ 1e: Allow users to select symbols that they are most familiar with.
REQ 1f: Allow users to set timing parameters around notification cues for navigation.
REQ 1g: Allow users to filter notifications by relevance.

COGA would like to add the following statement at the end of the Note (after User Need 1) on spatialized augmented reality environment: “In addition it may increase understanding of the environment for a user with a cognitive disability.”

Can we have some more info on the benefits in terms of what frames the user need? I can clearly understand why the use of symbols are important, however, I'd need more detail on why timing parameters for navigation cues are needed? Also what is the need around filtering notification by relevance - how do you see that working or do you have examples of good practice that may be applicable in XR that you can share? @CityMouse @lseeman

@joshueoconnor I wasn't part of the original conversation and want to be clear that I'm not speaking to what David F and John K had in mind with their original response. Instead, what follows is an elaboration from my understand in the hopes that this helps you move forward. The COGA TF will also be able to help further clarify this on the TF call tomorrow.

REQ 1e: Allow users to select symbols that they are most familiar with.

REQ 1f: Allow users to set timing parameters around notification cues for navigation.

REQ 1g: Allow users to filter notifications by relevance.
