The Michigan Department of Education is offering an extension of the African American Student Initiative (AASI) for any person in an educational setting. This extends to ISD and local district superintendents, superintendent's cabinet members, local school board members, parents/families/caregivers, teachers, principals/leadership, etc. interested in a Make, Enterprise, Teach, Achieve educational model and professional learning.
This is an ADULT PROFESSIONAL LEARNING opportunity.
The Workforce High model for engaging educators, leaders, and superintendents is to provide professional development that helps students shift mindsets towards innovative systems that shift culture through a "healing by doing" process. Workforce High is the only service provider of this magnitude to schools/districts that are willing to put forth the time, energy, resources, and commitment towards shifting existing systemic structures that are not serving student's inherent potential. This professional learning is uniquely designed to immerse educators in learning and hands-on experiences to enhance their understanding and deepen compassion for the students and communities in which they serve. Additionally, Workforce High is changing the perspective of what career and college readiness looks like through a true blended learning experience.
Workforce High trains educators and students through the 21st century makerspace laboratories. Workforce High students work on core subjects through a unique competency-based curriculum that engages them through engaging entrepreneurial ventures. The system is a metacognitive skill mastery pipeline placing our students on intentional tracks towards employment and graduation. As students build transferable skills, educators, students, and Workforce High work together with employers directly to place students in careers where they start building wealth immediately after high school.
