Washington County 4-H Arts-In: 2024
Welcome to Washington County Arts-In.  Arts-In is a youth program that develops leadership, life skills and community through performing arts. Visit the Arts-In website to see pictures, music, and script. 

Who can participate? 4-H youth who have completed  grades 7-13 (grade 13 is one year post high school).  Note: the default major for all 7th graders will be Stage Production (Tech).

2024 Important Dates - Please note ALL 2024 dates listed below are required for participants:

Rehearsals at the Washington County Fairgrounds (Hooley Hall and Park Pavilion)
July 7 - Potluck/Auditions/Parent Meeting from 5:00-9:30 pm
July 14 -17 - Arts-In Encampment (Encampment starts at 1:00 pm on July 14, arrive at 12:30 pm to set up)
July 17 - Preview Performance for family and friends at 6:00 pm 
July 18 - Boutwells Landing Retirement Community service project performance at 11:00 am
July 30 - Dress rehearsal from 6:30-9:30 pm

Performances (Washington County Fair)
July 31 - 7:00 pm
August 1 - 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm
August 2 - 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm
August 3 - 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm
August 4 - 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm

Rehearsal/Picnic before State Fair - Tentatively Aug. 17 or 18 - 5:30-8:30pm 
State Fair performance - Time TBD

Cost is $75 if you register and pay by APRIL 1. After April 1, price increases to $90. Deadline to register is July 1. Late fees of an additional $25.00 ($115 total) will apply after July 1! 
*Participants will also need to purchase gate passes for the County Fair and State Fair general encampment.

Volunteer Requirement: 2+ hours of adult volunteer time is required for each child participating in Arts-In.  A separate $100.00 check per family must be included with registration.  This deposit will be shredded if volunteer commitment is completed.

Arts-In Code of Conduct 2024: In addition to the MN 4-H Code of Conduct guidelines which I signed at the beginning of the 4-H year, I agree to abide by the following rules and expectations during my time as a Washington County 4-H Arts-In participant. I will abide by these rules throughout the July encampment, auditions, county and state fair performances and cast picnic. I will show respect for my fellow participants, directors, student directors, and adult volunteers at all times. I will refrain from disruptive or inappropriate language, clothing, and behavior. I agree to power down cellphones/social media during rehearsal and group activities. I understand that the Arts-In show will be recorded and may be shared with stakeholders, in local nursing homes, or on social media. Any violations of this Code of Conduct, or the MN 4-H Code of Conduct, will result in consequences to be determined by the directors, performing arts project development committee, and Extension staff.  Consequences may include, but are not limited to:   Not being allowed to participate in future year’s Arts-In shows Being asked to leave the Arts-In encampment. *
