To what extent has the nominee's work increased the understanding of planning principles and the planning process? How was the nominee shown a clear understanding and support for the role of planners in public life? *
To what extent has the nominee been effective in formulating and implementing his/her plans and ideas, and thus furthered the cause of planning? How has the nominee made a commitment to the planning profession? Consider the number of Plans developed and adopted, zoning ordinances updated, contribution to implementation efforts, years served on volunteer commissions, advisory boards, APA Board, etc., and commitment to diversity and inclusion. *
10 Years of Committed Services: No restrictions or priorities are placed on the size of the jurisdiction. Nominees will demonstrate outstanding leadership to the planning profession and/or within his or her community for a minimum of ten (10) years. *
How has the longevity of this effort assisted others to understand the value of the planning process and to pursue similar initiatives? What impact, if any, has the effort had beyond the intended study area with regards to promoting best planning practices, promoting the planning professional, or influencing other areas of expertise (architecture, social services, law, landscape architecture, real estate, etc.) *
In addition to the above, each nominee shall provide the following information: a) Total cost of the plan and percentage of the plan covered by a grant (if applicable); b) Population size to which the plan directly applies, and c) The extent at which an outside consultant was utilized. *
