Forestry Lunch Breaks – Hardwoods of Western Washington

Spend lunch learning about what hardwoods have to offer!

In western Washington, hardwoods have largely been ignored or maligned in favor of more valuable commercial timber species like Doug-fir and other conifers.  However, hardwoods provide significant benefits to forests, wildlife, and people.  In this series, we’ll explore common hardwood species in the region, their characteristics, uses, and potential management.  Tune in, eat lunch, and to get to know a hardwood species a little better!
