Pay-By-Plate is an alternative payment system where you register your license plate and tolls are automatically billed to your credit card each time you use Maryland’s facilities. It may be used on vehicles with 10 axles or less.

This account type requires vehicle information and valid credit card information for processing payment. When the customer’s license plate is read by an MDTA toll facility, the trip will be deducted using the license plate on file. The credit card on your Pay-By-Plate account will be charged.

Information needed to create a Pay-By-Plate account includes: First and Last Name, Vehicle License Plate Number and State, Vehicle Color, and Vehicle Year, Credit Card and an email address or phone number.
