Fall 2022 Sky Islands Stewards Technical Training Registration
Wild Arizona, in partnership with The Coronado National Forest Service and Outslope Trail Solutions, is pleased to announce our fall 2022 Sky Island Trail Stewards technical trail skills trainings.

We’re offering two different workshops during September. Each workshop will be offered twice – at different locations – to give you more options. You are welcome to attend either workshop or both of them.

Workshop 1: Tread Construction and Repair
Topics, dates and locations:
  • Principles of trail design
  • Sustainable tread construction
  • How to fix damaged trail surfaces
       Sept. 17 -  Box Camp Trail, Mount Lemmon
       Sept. 24 -  Super Trail, Madera Canyon

Workshop 2: Introduction to Stone Work
Topics, dates and locations:
  • Fundamentals of working with stone
  • Introduction to stone erosion control structures
  • Repairing Stone structures
      Sept. 18 -  Box Camp Trail, Mount Lemmon
      Sept. 25 -  Super Trail, Madera Canyon

Details (all workshops):
  • Instructor is Eric Ruljancich – eminent local trail expert
  • The workshops are free and open to anyone over 18 years of age
  • Attendees should have a basic knowledge/experience of trail maintenance. If not, please email Eric.
  • Time: All workshops will be held from 9:00am to 3:30pm
