Bending Towards Justice Seminar Series #4
History of Voting and Civil Rights in Arkansas

The April event is tailored to K-5th grade teachers and will be on site at the Clinton Presidential Library Education Classroom, 1200 President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock.

Session content includes highlights from the fall Bending Towards Justice lectures, hands-on activity instruction, guest presenters Laura Sergeant, Katie Bass and Kathleen Pate and a VIP tour of the “Women’s Voices, Women’s Votes, Women’s Rights” exhibit, along with takeaway classroom resources and door prizes. The lectures will also be recorded and made available online after the event. The VIP tour begins at 4:30 and is optional, the program will begin at 5:15.

Registration for professional development credit is required. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and free resources that you can use in your classroom.

The inspiration for the title and theme of the series is based on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s writings and speeches where he quotes Theodore Parker, an early 1800s Unitarian minister: The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice. This series not only explores voting rights in our nation and state but acknowledges the meaning of a truly democratic society remains an ongoing, unfinished, story.

This professional development series is made possible by support of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Clinton Presidential Library.
