DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- Marc Mero, a former boxer and professional wrestler who is now an inspirational speaker, has partnered with the Family Wealth Partners of Baird to deliver his powerful message to teenagers at Miami Valley schools.

On November 1 and 2, Mero will present at four local high schools in the Miami Valley.

60% of young people in Montgomery County have considered suicide, with only 5% of them seeking mental health treatment, according to the Montgomery County ADAMHS Board.

The Family Wealth Partners thought it was crucial for Mero to have the chance to speak at local high schools on the epidemic of youth suicide.

Students who hear Mero's message are inspired to make a difference in their own lives, schools, and communities, and feel a better sense of appreciation for their connections and the "gift of time."

Each of the schools Marc will be speaking at also have Hope Squads, which are trained school-based peer support groups that keep an eye out for vulnerable adolescents, offer companionship, recognize the warning signs of suicide, and seek out adult assistance.

Marc Mero, Champion of Choices, and The Family Wealth Partners are pleased to be working together to provide this lecture to high schools in the Miami Valley. The organizations also express their gratitude to the Hope Squads, ADAMHS, and Dayton Children's Hospital for their tireless efforts in bringing mental health services to the Miami Valley.
