FOA 9th annual Rally 4 Recovery; were unstoppable force and no one is left unnoticed

DAYTON, Oh (WKEF) --- Families of Addicts sponsored their 9th annual Rally 4 Recovery, where many guests shared their life experiences and 63 local groups for mental health and recovery provided information about their services to the community.

The FOA Rally 4 Recovery ended today, but the support that was present will endure.

Families of Addict’s board member, Aaron Laine, stated that the rally's goal is to provide addicts and their families with a safe environment where they can connect.

“Create support groups for families that are seeking help, seeking assists for their loves or even the loved one particularly, all the people impacted by addiction,” said Laine.

According to Jessica Danner of Dayton Recovers, this event is designed to help the community lower the barriers that addicts face while they pursue recovery.

“When you bring us all together, we’re unstoppable force. So that’s what this is about us coming together sharing resources showing everybody that this matter and for everybody that thinks that their counted out we’re proving right now that your never counted out,” said Danner.

Joe Thomas, one of the attendees, claims the Rally 4 Recovery was amazing and refreshing.

“You’re not by yourself in this, this effect a lot of people and when everybody can come together and see that you know it takes each other to defeat this,” said Thomas.

Balloons were released at the conclusion of the event to remember those who have lost their lives to addiction and those who continue to struggle every day to maintain their sobriety.

FOA officials want to remind anyone in recovery, that their bravery, hard work, and dedication doesn't go unnoticed.

“I think it normalize the conversation for mental health and substance abuse, i think it shows that recovery is a beautiful thing and we are changing are community even face with overdose awareness,” said Laine.

Also, FOA leaders want to remind the community that there are numerous organizations in Miami Valley that provide services whenever you or your family is ready.
