Remaining Colorado Big Game Hunting Licenses Options

The Primary Limited License Draw application and correction deadline passed on April 2, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. MT; however, there are still some great opportunities to apply for and purchase a license.

  1. Secondary Limited License Draw will be the next opportunity for hunters to apply for a Colorado big game limited license. Most elk, deer, pronghorn and bear licenses not issued through the primary draw will be made available to anyone, whether they applied for the primary draw or not. Secondary draw applications will be accepted starting on June 20, 2024.

  2. Over-the-Counter, Remaining and Reissued Licenses are available without having to participate in the draw(s). They do not require buying/having a qualifying license, do not use preference points and can be purchased after the start of a season by phone, online and in person at sales agents around the state. These licenses will be available for purchase on August 6, 2024, 9 a.m. MT.
