Building Gender Inclusive Spaces - Exploring the Intersection of Race and LGBTQ+ Identities
In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn foundational knowledge of gender and sexuality and best practices to support a gender diverse workforce, with a focus on the intersection of race and LGBTQ+ identities. Participants will have the opportunity to move through real-life scenarios, apply their understanding of pronoun use, and develop strategies to advance gender equity at King County.

ESJ Fundamentals
Equity and Social Justice Fundamentals is the first session in a series of trainings designed to support King County employees in learning about equity and social justice and in particular racial justice at King County. Using videos, small group conversations, and sharing of information and resources.

Leader Mindset for King County supervisors and managers sets a foundation that leading a team starts with understanding yourself and your responsibility to create a team culture of belonging where all employees can thrive. In this interactive webinar, participants will take part in engaging activities, small group discussions and action planning. This training is free and will be offered on multiple dates. This two-hour online workshop will provide you tips and strategies on how to make your application materials stand out. Learning objectives include:
- Understanding the purpose of the job application, resume, cover letter and supplemental questions and how to make each of them more effective
- Deciding what to include in your resume and the best format to showcase your qualifications
- How to write a cover letter tailored to the specific position
- Identifying and showcasing your accomplishments and transferable skills

- How to prepare for a virtual job interview
- The interview structure and types of questions you will be asked

Join instructor Lenny Borer for this two-day training. He will address communication and problem-solving skills with the public and with co-workers. This class covers skills for effective listening, speaking, dealing with conflicts, and with defensive behavior and takes place on Wednesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 26, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. each day.
