Showing gratitude at work means acknowledging a person or a team’s efforts, as well as behaviors that contribute to the success of the organization. It can be formal or informal, as long as the employee feels valued by leaders.
Some benefits of showing appreciation: higher individual performance/motivation, improved work culture and customer satisfaction, less turnover, better teamwork/collaboration – and increased employee engagement. With the Engagement Survey in full swing and Employee Appreciation day on March 4, keep the spirit alive all year long! Administrative Professionals Development & Recognition Program
Did you know the Administrative Professionals Development & Recognition Program began in 2016?
King County has a massive workforce made up of administrative professionals and the Administrative Professionals Development & Recognition Program was developed to help bolster and champion those in administrative job classifications. Our Advisory Committee along with program manager, Lili Stansberry, work to source professional growth opportunities as well as provide a platform for recognition. Originally the Program largely focused on a single yearly event – Administrative Professional’s Day – but with the Covid pandemic, we saw our own opportunity to expand our reach and reimagine the Program.
In 2021, the Administrative Professionals Development & Recognition Program began producing monthly events to engage with administrative professionals across the county. Each month we host either a networking event or a more casual event to connect with a subject matter expert (SME) within the County. Our networking events aim to help each other recognize resources within the County and to come together and discuss topics such as setting professional goals and how to take control of your personal brand. Our more casual events are our Casual Conversations where you’ll have direct access to different SMEs who will be available to answer questions about services, they provide such as Disability Services and the Employee Assistance Program.
This new year is primed to see the momentum continue and we’d love to invite you to join us. Keep an eye on the Administrative Professionals Development & Recognition Program and Employee News for events each month. We are currently 100% virtual and are looking forward to seeing you soon! Follow the Administrative Professional Yammer and Stream Channel!
Save the Date – Wednesday, April 27 – Administrative Professionals Day
Register to attend the virtual recognition and celebration of administrative professionals. Our keynote speaker will be Anita Whitfield, Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer. Please join us and others as we celebrate you – “You Are the Future of Work”!
