Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians,
- Beginning Sunday, December 12, COVID-19 vaccinations will no longer be available at the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex. The County’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic is relocating to Prince George’s Community College at the Largo Student Center with vaccinations resuming on Thursday, December 16.
- Individuals with vaccination appointments at the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex from Sunday, December 12 to Wednesday, December 15 will be rescheduled to the new location.
- Walk-ins are accepted but appointments are encouraged. Please note that walk-ins will not be accepted at the Prince George’s Community College on Thursday, December 16 and Friday, December 17.
- Based on the latest guidance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the County Health Department is now offering booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine to individuals 16 and older, in addition to the previously approved Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster shots for individuals 18 and older.
- Individuals ages 16 and older are eligible to receive a booster shot if they received the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago. Individuals ages 18 and older are eligible to receive a booster shot if they received the Moderna vaccine at least six months ago or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.
- The FDA and the CDC allow for mix and match dosing for booster shots. Eligible individuals who prefer a vaccine brand may choose which one they receive as a booster dose, regardless of the brand they previously received.

- The County Health Department clinics and mobile units have provided over 197,000 vaccinations, including over 6,100 in December.
- During the first week of December, approximately 2,900 initial or single doses, over 2,700 second doses, and over 10,400 additional doses were given to County residents.
- Throughout the last several weeks, we have continued to see an increase in vaccinations at County-led clinics due to additional doses provided, including third doses needed by immunocompromised residents and booster shots to increase immune response, as well as the recent authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years.
 While the County Health Department now operates only one standing vaccination clinic in the County, in addition to nine mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. Please remember that we do not manage nor control appointments or distribution for any sites besides those operated by our County Health Department.

Appointments: Individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should visit mypgc.us/COVIDVaccine to view clinic hours or schedule an appointment directly. Individuals who cannot schedule an appointment online on their own should call 311 and press # for assistance.

Additional Non-County Operated Sites

- Over 1,225,000 vaccines have been provided to County residents. 600,559 County residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
- As of December 10, the CDC has reported 89.3% of adults ages 18 and older have received at least one vaccination in the County, and 78.1% are fully vaccinated.
- When including all residents ages 12 and older, 89% of residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the CDC.
- Approximately 95% of seniors (ages 65 and older) in the County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
- Approximately 14.6% of County residents ages 5 to 9 years and 59.6% of County residents ages 10 to 19 years have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
