Quentin Road Widening is Nearing Completion
Construction on Lake County's Quentin Road project is substantially complete with only minor work left that will be finished in the spring. All lanes were opened in late November, marking the beginning of a new and improved Quentin Road in Kildeer and Lake Zurich.
Construction began more than two years ago on a $22 million construction project to widen a 1.95 mile stretch of Quentin Road from White Pine Road to IL 22 to five lanes. More than 80 percent of the project was paid for using federal funds.
We would like to thank all the project partners, including the contractors, governments, and businesses for their collaboration on this project. We are incredibly grateful for the amazing teams that worked during cold winters, hot summers, and throughout the pandemic to guide the project towards completion. And most importantly, we thank YOU for your patience during construction!
Meet the New Quentin Road
Quentin Road was widened to five lanes with new turn lanes added throughout the area. Traffic backups had long plagued this stretch of road in its previous two lane configuration. View our timelapse video to see the progress of construction.
Fences with landscaping stone are used to give the road a signature look. New multi-use paths and sidewalks were installed at all sections of the project to provide residents access to the local businesses and parks.
Drainage improvements were implemented throughout the project. Crews installed new box culverts and storm sewers. In this photo, structural polymer concrete liner is being sprayed at the interior of the culvert at Buffalo Creek. The liner was applied to prevent deterioration to the pipe.
