The Redistricting Kit, comprised of the following items provides important tools and resources for those interested in participating in the County’s 2021 redistricting process

    Redistricting Datasets & Reference files: 1 electronic file (12.7MB) with five (5) data tables of the 2020 Decennial Census P.L. 94-171 Redistricting Data file, adjusted for incarcerated individuals and the 2015-2019 citizen voting age population (CVAP) adjusted for incarcerated individuals grouped by different geographies:

    1. BLOCK: Total population, voting age, and citizen voting age by race and ethnicity and by 2020 Census blocks with block group, census tract, and cities/Census Designated Places
    2. BLOCK GROUP: Total population, voting age, and citizen voting age by race and ethnicity and by 2020 Census block groups with census tract
    3. CENSUS TRACTS: Total population, voting age, and citizen voting age by race and ethnicity and by 2020 Census tracts
    4. PARTIAL TRACT: Total population, voting age, and citizen voting age by race and ethnicity and by 2020 Census tracts split by cities/Census Designated Place
    5. PLACE: Total population, voting age, and citizen voting age population by race and ethnicity and by cities and Census Designated Places

     

  • Item 7: 2021 Orange County District Plan Proposal Assignment-Excel (7.5MB)

    REVISED 9/28/2021 per Statewide Database updates posted 9/27/2021
    2021_Orange_County_District_Plan_Proposal_Assignment-Excel_20210928 to create a proposed 5-district plan by assigning partial census tracts. The Excel file contains six worksheets:

    1. “Instructions” worksheet contains detailed directions on how to use the file.
    2. “Author” worksheet includes contact information and summary explanations of their plan.
    3. “Assignments” worksheet contains the populations by race/ethnicity and a blank column to assign each of the split census tracts to a Supervisorial district.
    4. “Summary” worksheet automatically subtotals and displays the populations by proposed Supervisorial district as assigned in the “Assignment” worksheet.
    5. “Reference Map” worksheet contains a reference map of split census tracts. A PDF version of the map is posted on the Redistricting Submittal kit site: https://cob.ocgov.com/sites/cob/files/2021-08/ITEM03_OC_CT2020_PLACES_0.pdf
    6. “REF Place” worksheet contains a reference table of the redistricting dataset total population, voting age, and citizen voting age population by race and ethnicity and by cities and Census Designated Places (CDPs).
