Fun Facts About The Eiffel Tower

  • The Eiffel tower is located in Paris, France, and is one of the most well known structures in the world.
  • It was originally built as the entrance arch for the World’s Fair in 1889.
  • It is named after Gustave Eiffel, whose company was in charge of the project.
  • The Eiffel tower is 1,063 feet or 324 metres tall to its tip, and is about the same height as an 81-storey building.
  • It took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to build the Eiffel tower, which was a big achievement at that time.

How To Make A Newspaper Tower

SUPPLIES:

  • Newspaper
  • Tape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Marker

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Roll the newsprint into a tube, using a marker.

STEP 2: Repeat until you have 7 tubes. Making sure to tape each one.

STEP 3: Shape one tube into the shape of a square. Tape the ends.

STEP 4: Tape another four tubes to each corner of your square so you tower can stand.

STEP 5: Now make a smaller square and four arches with your remaining tubes.

STEP 6: Tape the smaller square slightly above your first, attaching to each of your tower legs.

STEP 7: Gather together the top of your tower and tape.

STEP 8: Tape the arches between the bottom of the tower legs.

STEP 9: Make one more tiny square and add at the top of your tower. Then tape a pencil ‘antenna’ to the top of your tower as the final touch
