Calvin Pearson, Founder and President of Project 1619, will discuss his organization's mission to promote awareness of the first Africans brought to America. Mr. Pearson will discuss the importance of the 400th anniversary of the momentous occasion and why it is essential we understand the human toll it took.
Chesterfield County and Virginia State University celebrate Black History Month with programs that illustrate the African-American experience.
