2023 Winner Announced

We are pleased to announce the winner of our second InnoVenture $100,000 Challenge, ReEnvision Ag. ReEnvision Ag is creating a new category of planter for farmers: the Ultra-Low Disturbance Planter, or SeedSpikeTM. Farmers know that early planting maximizes revenue. The SeedSpikeTM extends the planting window, reduces soil compaction, and returns yield potential to farmers. This patent-pending row unit retrofits onto a planter a farmer already owns. Congratulations to ReEnvisionAg founder, Jayson Ryner.

The winner of the Nyemaster Goode People’s Choice Award winner ($10K) went to Upcycling+

Upcycling+ enables the profitable production of diesel fuel from discarded, non- recyclable plastic waste. The resulting fuel has a smaller estimated greenhouse gas footprint than petroleum, and their novel manufacturing process offsets the costs that consumers and businesses currently pay to dispose of solid plastic waste.

about us

InnoVenture Iowa Fund is the state’s first publicly-funded venture capital fund. The state of Iowa received $96 million in 2022 from the US Treasury as a part of the SSBCI funding made available to help states like ours rebuild our economies in the wake of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

It took countless hours and many dedicated, hard-working Iowans to bring InnoVenture Iowa to life. In concert with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Bioconnect Iowa, InnoVenture Iowa was formally launched in October of 2022 and began making its first investments in November of that same year.
